![]() ![]() Perhaps there's something I'm missing here but I'd very much like to hear an argument from from someone that defends the current intensity of the muzzle flash. The only reason I can imagine why they want to keep the flash is to dumb down the game, honestly. The way the flash negatively affects the gameplay outweighs the visual appeal. We know for a fact that this works, just look at PUBG. The players will stop blaming the game mechanics and blame themselves. However, the majority of people won't be able to do this but they would know this is possible to do, if they get better. Instead of trying to solve the laser gun issue with muzzle flash, why not just increase the recoil of the guns? This way, if your recoil control is good enough, you could potentially spray at a long range. Treyarch made the predictive recoil a big point in their marketing but in reality, the recoil is very low on the majority of guns. You always want your games to have a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling. What this does is reduce the skill ceiling of the game which, for a game that touts itself as a tactical shooter, is a poor design decision. This means that you can't gun down a player at long range instantly. The root cause is the fact that the guns are feel like lasers in this game so the flash is used to obfuscate your vision. If you're going to bring up the balance argument, I don't think muzzle flash is the way to fix this. ![]() I really can't fathom how he misunderstood the question. Why is Vondy so dead set of the muzzle flash when the majority of the community want it reduced. If you want to, you may set opacity to 50%, but you'll be able to control it's opacity and blending options on the editor you'll use.Surely they can reduce the flash drawn on the shooter's gun in first person POV while keeping it the same from a third person POV. So it won't become a "straight line" on them. Now, in the Original layer - the Layer 0 - delete the sections where the picture appears just below the warped blood section.
